Jean Zens was a Luxembourgish entrepreneur and painter. In 1874, Jean Zens, along with his brother Pierre and the painter August Kunz, founded his company, specializing in the decoration of French and German porcelain. The Royal Grand-Ducal Ceramic Painting Manufactory Zens Frères in Echternach was established near Echternach Abbey. Four years later, they won a silver medal for their work at the Universal Exhibition in Paris . The company received orders from porcelain manufacturers such as Villeroy & Boch and the Limoges Porcelain Manufactory . In 1880, Jean Zens became a member of the Chamber of Commerce. Zens Frères moved to Großgaass Street in Echternach around 1886. The company was dissolved in 1908.
